Puerto Banus, Marbella ♯Travel Diaries

Hey guys,

Hope you guys are doing great!!! Today’s blogpost is a continuation on my travels in Spain!!

As I mentioned in the previous post we were vacating in Spain during this summer!!! Let me take you through my travels of Destination 2….

DESTINATION 2 —> Marbella and Puerto Banos

DAY 1- We rented an apartment in Puerto Banus reaching around 9:00. Puerto Banus buzzes with life both day and night as people wander around the marina, gazing enviously at the glitterati, languishing in their yachts almost the size of cruise ships, hoping to catch a glimpse of some celebrity. On our first day, we spent a majority of out time exploring the ravishing streets of Puerto Banus situated near the harbour. All along the harbour were expensive shops and boutiques and at night were restaurants, bars and nightclubs that would overflow with diners and late night revellers. We dined at Picolo Amore Gastrobar Italiano, definitely a must visit pizzeria along the harbour of Puerto Banus. Later on we visited a small street market with a variety of gorgeous hand stitched garments, accessories and even street artists.

DSC_0333

DAY 2- We visited Plaza de los Naranjos, situated right in the heart of Marbella Old Town, Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Square) was one of the liveliest and most emblematic sights in this famous beach resort on Costa del Sol. Lined up with beautiful Castilian Renaissance architecture and filled with numerous open-air cafes and restaurants, with small boutiques to shop from, the square was an excellent place to explore, we could indulge in local gastronomic delights, or just sit and relax with the sweet scent of orange blossoms all around us. After our visit to this magnificent town we headed off back to the Puerto Banus Harbour and enjoyed our night there!! We rented a bike and roamed around the frenzied streets.

DSC_0150DSC_0096DSC_0088DSC_0063

DAY 3- This was our last day in Puerto Banus, we spend the morning at the beach located right outside our apartment, we headed back to the marina and harbour for the rest of the day and explored the area. For those shopaholics, later on in the day we visited Les Cortes Anglais, by far one of the best areas to shop in Spain.

DSC_0248DSC_0242DSC_0006DSC_0003DSC_0002So that was a quick summary of by far one of the best destinations!!!!

Destination ♯3, Coming Soon!!!!

Tenerife #Travel Diaries

Hey guys,

I hope all you loves are having a wonderful summer!!! Today’s blogpost is a slightly different one and my first attempt on travel blogging!!

This summer we are vacationing in sunny Spain and here’s a little info on what I’ve done and where I’ve been so far.

DESTINATION 1 —> Tenerife (One of the islands in the Canary Islands archipelago)

Day 1-  Reached the hotel Sheraton La Caleta Resort and Spa around 5:30pm!! We decided to relax and explore the hotel for a while and then had dinner at a restaurant located in the hotel itself!!

Day 2- We woke up around 8:00 and headed out to do some water sports at the beach adjoining the hotel!! Parasailing, Jet skiing and the Flying Fish ride were what we decided to do however there were several other choices also available (Definitely was the most adventurous way to start off the day!! Woohoooo!!!) We then left to go to Siam Park (a waterpark) where we spent the rest of the day!! (From 2:00 to 6:00). I would recommend getting a fast pass to avoid the long queues but they tend to sell out in the morning so it’s best to get there before 11!! We then headed back to the hotel and had dinner there!!

Day 3- So now we’re at day 3, quite a hectic one!!! Since Canary Islands is highly famous for it’s Volcano we decided to keep that right in the middle of our trip, ironically its right at the heart of the island too!!! (Volcano Name- La Teide….thankfully its currently dormant!!) There is a possibility to go up to the volcano via a cable cart but you must book it in advance (even a day prior to your visit should be fine)!! We left around 3 from La Teide and headed to Charco De La Laja a natural pool formed at the sea shore, definitely a beautiful place to visit!! We reached around 4, spent an hour at the pool and left at y5 heading to Los Gigantes!! Los Gigantes is another major tourist attraction, which are beautifully formed cliffs. The only way to get to the base of the cliffs is either by boat ride or a 3 hour hike!! Instead we decided to go to a beach across from the cliffs to take in the spectacular view. We then headed back to the hotel.

Day 4- After breakfast we headed off to La Laguna, (said to be the most beautiful town on the Island…and I definitely agree) The historic town center is a gem, with narrow straight streets flanked by pastel hued historic row houses!! We spent around half the day there, roaming around the town, visiting small boutiques (and other shops… definitely a shoppers paradise) and coffee shops along our way!! We then headed off to go to Playa de las Americas, basically a beach walk with several shops, restaurants and pubs!! It’s quite lively and I definitely recommend going there for a bit (especially if you’re a shopper!!) Later on in the day we took off and landed at a shopping center, Plaza del Duque and spent rest of our time there, reaching our hotel around 9!!

Day 5- Being our last day at Tenerife, we decided to stay at the resort, went for the Spa (they had special treatments and a variety of different massages as well as a Jacuzzi, Steam, Sauna, Igloo, Plunge Pools and Lifestyle showers) and relaxed at the pool!! We checked out around 2:30 and left to go to the airport!!! Definitely suggest a stay at Sheraton La Caleta Resort and Spa!! The luxurious hotel lines up a trio of pools and four restaurants.

This resort has snapped up a picturesque spot in the exclusive Costa Adeje area. You get panoramic views of the mountains in one direction. Wander the opposite way through the grounds, meanwhile, and you’ll come to the beach.

The complex is really colourful. Green palms and shrubs are spread among terracotta buildings and turquoise pools. Bedrooms, meanwhile, come with all-marble bathroom suites and a perfect beach view!!

So that’s a goodbye to Destination #1 !!!

En Route DESTINATION #2—-> Madrid, here we comeeeee!!

Flaring In Florals

“When iconic French fashion meets modern Bohemian style a cross sectional love affair is born”-Unknown

Hey Loves,

So it’s been a while since my last post. Finally got down to writing one after a stressful month full of exams, submissions, deadlines and even more deadlines.

Feels so good to be back with yet another look!!! There’s something different about this look though.

With summer right at your doorstep, toeing the line between staying cool and staying prim isn’t always easy when it’s blistering hot outside. Particularly considering the fact that it must be a scene-stealing summer party dress, as well as the perfect look to energize your new season beach wear.

The new Parisboheme summer collection served up an eye-popping bouquet of florals and gratifies as the perfect example where fashion optimism originates with bold blooms. This Dubai based online concept store is the perfect shoppers stop to indulge in the latest trends with the most affordable prices.

Check out the Blue and Pink Louisa Dress, one of my favourites from the lot!!! Hand picked from the boutique collection, nothing can be compared to this beautifully hand-stitched French outfit, styled with a Bohemian touch. It’s enriching and blossoming colours amid a beautiful floral pattern is the quintessential way to go for a hot summery day. Easy to wear and totally eye catching, its one of the many pieces that totally stole my heart. One of it’s kind, the 100 percent polyester cotton dress was freshly stitched and shipped (free of charge within the GCC ) right from France directly to my room.

That Blogging Life

“Fill your paper with the breathing of your heart” –William Wordswoth

Hello lovelies,

Today’s post is quite a fun one I’d say. I decided to ditch the casual posts on my outfits and thought of doing a post on the insights of fashion blogging!! Being an IB student it’s quite a task to be a blogger – from trying to come up with new ideas and write ups, to finding locations and taking pictures of outfits!!

After starting a blog myself, I realized that there is much more to blogging than just picking an outfit, posing for pictures and smiling at the camera. Therefore I decided to take you “behind the scenes” and share my experience as to what inspires me to be a fashion blogger.

  1. Blogging for me has been the perfect form of expression as an alternative for speaking to share my thoughts. Knowing that public speaking is definitely not my thing…I’ve been able to open up and share my thoughts in the form of writing.
  2. Blogging gives me a platform to interact with others just like me. I call it a creative whirlwind of thoughts, ideas, trend updates and tips especially at times when I’ve run out of ideas. I’m sure we’ve all gone through it, trying to find outfit ideas or new post ideas on instagram! It’s the perfect place to get some new inspirations from.
  3. I’ve learnt about so many new places to shop from. Sometimes shopping at the same stores gets a little monotonous and my wardrobe starts lacking variety. If it weren’t for these bloggers supporting these retail stores, I would have never been introduced to these new online sites. These sites give me the options to opt for fashionable, well-priced and distinctive looks.
  4. Sometimes rummaging through these massive and complicated websites to find the perfect outfit can be quite infuriating. Fashion bloggers these days have made life so much easier by showcasing the best and sleekest outfits saving you the trouble of having to hunt through the websites to find the best picks.
  5. I’ve always found blogging as one of the best ways to feel a part of a community of people who you relate to, seeing unique personalities come together sharing ideas, and appreciating each other. Usually it is hard to believe a fashion community in which everyone is tying to succeed, is so tightknit and willing to help each other. Being able to be a part of a community full of enthusiasm and support from bloggers all over the world makes it so much more pleasurable to work around, because no matter what, they are always supporting you and willing to help you through tips and tricks.
  6. Now lets talk about the pictures!!! Taking pictures…. Uhmmmm could get a little awkward at times, especially while taking outdoor photographs with people staring at you in the streets, posing for a photo. This I’m pretty sure you can relate to…. However I guess it no longer fazes me now even when I have to take 25+ shots for just one look to get just the perfect picture.
  7. My photographer is my mommy and it’s always bliss to spend some extra time with her!!! My mom and I are really close and I’d say this it the perfect reprieve to spend more time with her and just catch up.

What I’m Wearing- A super chic boat necked batik bodycon dress, paired with black heels and accessorised with a tomato red Michael Kors wallet.

Hope you enjoyed today’s post as much as I enjoyed writing it!! Boy, blogging can be a task now don’t you think?  Share your thoughts and blogging experiences with me on the comments below and hope you all have a lovely day ❤

My Kinda Blues

Hey guys,

Yippieeee… finally done!!! In case you’ve been wondering where I’ve been since the past week or so, let me give you a heads up… So the past week has been heart throbbing, stressful and full of exam revision. Finally done and dusted with my mid- year exams, I’m back here with a new post!!

We all have busy schedules due to our work or our education, and this sometimes leaves us with a ridiculous 15 minutes or less to get ready for an outing . And just when you are under time pressure of not being late, the dilemma of  “having nothing to wear ” gets in the way. Aaaaghhh… how I hate that feeling!!!! This is where denims come in to save the day. It basically solves all wardrobe emergencies.

Out of my entire wardrobe, I can easily say that my denims are the most frequently worn pieces. Be it rompers, jeans, shorts or even skirts!!

Button-front skirts, mini or midi, A-line or pencil, these bottoms have been featured in countless street style looks. This retro revival is super versatile and can be perfectly paired with an oversized top or simple tank with heels or maybe even a pair of sneaker’s.

dsc_0113dsc_0139dsc_0128dsc_0118What I’m Wearing- A super comfy Tommy Hilfiger denim skirt paired with a sheer white lace top and Adidas Superstars. Sling-Armani Jeans.

The outfit above is a no-brainer combo I throw on when I have to get ready within minutes. The look is casual yet impactful and great for a brunch date or movies. I’d say a denim skirt falls right in-between…..casual yet chic.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful Wednesday, my lovelies!!

Stripes Forever

Heyaaa,

Back to school means, back to waking up at 6:15, not getting out of bed till 6:45, classes, tears, assignments, EXAMS and more tears…metaphorical tears but hey, who knows what the year holds. The past week has been a complete blurrr for me, most of my time spent procrastinating and avoiding as much work as possible and the rest of the time spent juggling between a million things to do. But I am looking forward to sitting down and writing this blog post.

Solid stripes have ruled 2016. They have owned the sartorial stage and will continue doing so in 2017. From the French black and white, to the nautical blue and white and now the trending fashionable stripes in bold colors, they are sure to stay. Bold colored stripes are also a great way of color blocking, another trend that is growing bigger.

I have an army of these in my wardrobe and on days when getting dressed feels like a challenge I always reach out for my “can’t-go-wrong-with” stripes. They are the most versatile, classic and sophisticated prints out there. It is a print that can be paired with anything and I promise if you play around you’ll be surprised how well stripes team up with other pieces in your closet.

Mismatching prints have also made a massive comeback. Many a time I love to come out of my comfort zone and pair my classic thin stripped t-shirt with a floral skirt. After all fashion is about having fun, putting your own spin on what it means to be fashionable, and feeling confident.

dsc_0177dsc_0192dsc_0181dsc_0158

What I’m Wearing This body hugging striped dress that I’m wearing is so versatile and super comfy. Pair it up with a denim vest for a bit of warmth and you’re good to go all year through. Teamed up this dress a fuss free wallet from Armani Jeans and white tie up shoes from New Look Fashion.

Reflecting In Red

Hey guys,

So what exactly happened to December?? Well, it started off with work and assignments, followed by my favorite Mumbai trip, catching up with friends and family, pyjama parties, emergency restaurant stops at 4am and fun galore.

So, as we bid adieu to 2016 and while most of us are making New Year resolutions. I’d like to look back and reflect on a few valuable lessons learnt over this eventful year. Here are a few positive things, which I learnt in 2016 and will apply in 2017.

  1. Decluttering -Imagine having an excuse to a whole new wardrobe! It’s a new year, whether you are saying goodbye to your last years look or building on some new timeless styles, it’s time to make that much needed space in the wardrobe. This means de-cluttering! Every now and then fashion evolves, there are so many clothes lying in your wardrobe that you may not even know exist, or which may no longer fit you. Why not give them to those in need? As with fashion, it is also important to de-clutter one’s life. It is essential to let go and take a step back and put things in perspective. Maybe the ‘big issues’ in your life are not really all that ‘big’.
  2. Unplug-Sometimes unplugging from any and all forms of social media is all you need. Too much of anything is bad. Technology has revolutionized the way in which we communicate with individuals. It gives us access to a multitude of information, all at our fingertips. Due to the constant bombardment of information from the virtual world, sometimes it complicates the way in which we think and at times like these, it is best to unplug.
  3. Don’t be afraid to fail – From personal experience I can tell you, “bad decisions make good stories”, never be afraid to fail. Failing may simply be a great learning experience. Many of us (including me) fear failing, but this is what stops us from moving forward and achieving our goals.
  4. Let it go, let it go… can’t hold it back anymore…Growing up reading Archie comics and watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S, it hits us hard when some friendships don’t work. But that’s ok. We must learn to accept and move on. This is what makes us a stronger and a better person. Make way for new people to come into your life, it’s always good to have a little change, don’t you think? Choose those who choose you!
  5. Self-love is the key to living a happy life. Self-love is the magical mindset where dreams come true. You need to love yourself enough to believe you are capable of doing whatever it is your heart desires. So stay positive and love yourself.

Planning to take forward all the lessons and achievements, leaving behind everything that pulls me down, I urge you all to apply some of these practices in 2017 and enjoy the simplicity that accompanies the shift…

dsc_0041dsc_0040unknowndsc_0044

What I’m Wearing The perfect red dress. Obsessed with anything sheer and lacy,I had a feeling it’ll become my favourite dress and right I was!! Pairing it with heels or boots and some minimal accessories I’m good to go for a day or night party. Also an outfit inspiration for NYE.

But this year I’m gonna ditch the dress, put on my distressed shorts and a top and bring in 2017 at the biggest party night of the year as Coldplay rocks the capital on New Years Eve.

So guys party hard, stay safe and stay stylish.

See you all soon on the other side. Signing off in 2016.

Know Me Better…

Heya,

Todays post is one of those super random posts that I thought might be fun and a pretty good way of introducing myself to my lovely readers since I am fairly new. Everyone has peculiarities that most people don’t know about. So without much ado…let me get personal and divulge 20 things you didn’t know about me.

  1. Though I am a fashion addict, I have a passion for sports. Playing sports is a stress buster for me. Believe it or not I’ve been on the football, basketball and badminton team and I have done swimming and tennis too.
  2. I hate being woken up in the middle of the night… I hate being woken up, period!!
  3. I do not have OCD but I am a neat freak and untidy things give me anxiety. I am a total believer of “a place for everything and everything in its place” knowing my room isn’t clean really annoys me.
  4. I hardly watch T.V shows (OMG WHAT!!)
  5. Apart from welling out happy tears at the end of movies for fictional characters, I am also the type to cry when the winner is announced at the end of beauty pageants.
  6. I am a believer of fairytale endings. Everything must end with “they all lived happily ever after”.
  7. I cry unashamedly in sad movies.
  8. Speeches and public speaking…definitely not my thing. These are my ideas of hell.
  9. Unlike most people that are startled by insects, birds are the ones that petrify me.
  10. I take the R and L in my earphones very seriously.
  11. No matter the temperature, the one item that I need from my closet 24/7 is a pair of socks. I get very cranky without them.
  12. Hugs are the perfect solution to…..everything !!
  13. Board games are my forte (I challenge anyone to a game of sequence)
  14. I love to sing, but I am often asked to reserve my talents exclusively to the shower.
  15. My current obsession is focusing on the health of my nails and trying to grow them.
  16. When I am tired, I am super grumpy and irrational…….sorry!!
  17. I did jazz ballet as a kid.
  18. I am extremely superstitious.
  19. I always use double exclamations when I am messaging someone. Oh, and I love emojis!!
  20. My current favorite quote that I connect with is “creative minds are seldom tidy”

What I’m Wearing- Calvin Klein Jeans Denim Dress with brown boots and a Coton Sling

So here are the quirky 20 random facts about me. How many of you can relate? I like knowing quirky things about people and I’d love to build a relationship with my readers. So if you are inclined, leave some facts about yourself in the comments and I’ll see you in the next blog post!!

Timeless

There is something very exciting about seeing the latest collection in stores of our favorite brands and we constantly find ourselves with a growing pile of trendy, impulse purchases. But at the end of the day it’s the classic pieces in our wardrobe that grabs the most attention. These classic pieces are the building blocks to a great wardrobe and can be teamed up with anything to rock an outfit that’s youthful, stylish and uniquely you.

So here’s a run-down of 11 must-have pieces I have in my closet:

5710dsc_0284What I’m Wearing: Little black dress with black wedges

  • Little Black Dress- Also known as the LBD, is an absolute must have! You can never go wrong with a LBD cause you can always dress it up with statement jewelry or dress it down by throwing on a cardigan and converse.
  • Black Heels or Wedges- These have the potential to prep up any outfit and make it look dressy. Team them with an LBD, a girly dress or jeans and you are good to go!!dsc_0306dsc_0290dsc_0310dsc_0323What I’m Wearing: White off shoulder top, blue denim Hollister shorts, Micheal Kors high tops and a Micheal Kors baby pink sling
  • A Cute White Top- There are some days when I just cannot decide what to wear, and it gets super stressful. I am sure many of you can relate to this. On such days, I usually end up throwing on a white top, jeans or shorts with boots or belly’s. Basic yet versatile, cute white blouses can be paired up with anything!
  • Shorts- These are my absolute go to bottoms. You can wear them anywhere from parties to beach walks. They are extremely comfortable and can be apt for whatever activity you do.
  • Belly’s- Flats are a must when you need something more polished than sneakers but more comfy than heels. A cute pair can make even the most distressed jeans look chic and look cute with dresses too.
  • Cross Body Bag- A cross body bag has been a necessity for me!! It holds everything you need, keys, money, small hairbrush, phone, sunglasses, without having to fumble around trying to carry it all yourself. My prized possession is the one I got on my 16th birthday. dsc_0362What I’m Wearing: Blue denim distressed jeans, grey Abercrombie cardigan with a black tank, and Adidas superstars dsc_0339dsc_0340dsc_0354dsc_0355What I’m Wearing: Blue denim distressed jeans, red Hollister hoodie with a black tank, and Adidas superstars
  • The Go-To jeans- Of course everyone owns a pair of jeans, but I am talking about the one that fits like a glove and transform your body. There are tons of different cut, wash and styles but I just cannot do without my distressed pair. I swear I can just wear them ALL THE TIME.
  • Hoodies- For me one of the really exciting thing about (sort of) chilly weather in Dubai is layering, especially with hoodies.
  • Cardigans- Weather you’re trying to stay warm or you just need a good layering piece, a cardigan is a wardrobe staple. This light easy layering would work with sunshine and the wind.
  • Sneakers- Comfort, being the prime requirement of a teen, its important to own a casual pair of shoes which can be teamed up with literally anything. Depending on your taste these shoes can be CONVERSE or VANS but I am obsessed with my SUPERSTARS.
  • Stripped T-Shirt- It’s great to throw on when you don’t have much time to put your outfit together but still want to look presentable. Pair them with jeans, shorts, skirts, or throw them under a jacket or cardigan and you are good to go.

My style is heavily influenced by street style, but if you are preppy or boho your personal style will look different than this. Combine your pieces with trendy pieces to come up with  stylish and perfect outfits.
